“Miracles DO Happen!” Winter Gallery – It Snowed In Florida!

"O LORD, how manifold are thy works! In wisdom hast thou made them all: The earth is full of thy riches." Psalm 104:24 (KJV)

Miracles DO happen! It ACTUALLY snowed in Florida! A solid amount that is STILL on the ground two days later. Now, to be truthful, it probably won’t last a third. But, for most of the Florida Panhandle locals, many of which have NEVER seen, played in, or dealt with THIS MUCH SNOW, it was a joyously miraculous occasion! This winter photo gallery is proof. Miracles DO happen, even snow in Florida!

Winter Storm Enzo 2025

Winter Snowstorm Enzo arrived in northern Florida bringing a historic record-breaking blanket of snow with a wide range of shocked elated emotions and challenges. Kids who had never seen it snow before made snow angels and snowmen. Some might call their snowmen a little wimpy compared to those who have built multiple snowmen in their hometown snowy regions growing up. That didn’t take away the joy of building a snowman. Snow accumulation is a once-in-a-lifetime miracle here. Most Floridians do not own basic snow attire like snowsuits, snow boots, gloves, or even a snow scraper brush for the car. It is improvisation at its best. No one keeps and few sell rock salt (Sand is the rock salt of the South) or snow shovels because it NEVER snows! Well, maybe once or twice IN A CENTURY! Five to six inches of snow is a miracle in the state of Florida!

Snow Days

It is another miracle to experience an actual snow day from school and work in Florida! The roads are truly a mess because they do not budget for the less than occasional, almost never winter snowstorm. Measly, nano snow flurry accumulation usually melts away once the sun rises. Not with Winter Snowstorm Enzo. It was the perfect storm with several nights of below-freezing temperatures, precipitation, and a few consecutive days with only a few hours of above-freezing temperatures. Not only did miraculous record-breaking amounts of snow fall, that snow stayed for days. A State of Emergency was declared as construction graders and bulldozers became snow plows. No one was complaining.

Making Memories To Share

But, alas, even the delightfully challenging and miraculous Floridian snowfall of a century must come to an end. The warm sunshine that Florida is most known for comes into play to reclaim its territory. The mild winter days return with a sigh of sadness. But, the delightful memories made while playing in snow-filled yards making wimpy snowmen, having snowball fights, slip-sliding around, and laughing will remain. Today’s kids will grow up into tomorrow’s adults who will share these tales and tell generations to come, that miracles DO happen! It SNOWED in FLORIDA! Be blessed and stay warm Sisters!
