After all the dark, dreary, cold winter days that seemed would NEVER end, spring has finally arrived! Blue skies and sunshine have brought warmer days. If spring hasn’t happened for you folks in the more northern regions, hang in there! It’s coming! Is there anything more beautiful than a warm spring day? I don’t think so! Azaleas, Bridal Wreath, Dogwoods, along with a variety of other flowering trees are all in bloom! This display of beautiful colors is beyond phenomenal after the dreariness of winter. No one wants to be inside and miss all of the God-given beauty outside of a southern spring day!
Colorful flowers
Take a moment and go outside and just enjoy all of nature springing back to life. Listen to the birds chirping. Feel the sunshine on your face and take in these wonderfully mild temperatures. Inhale the freshness of the air and relish the cool breeze. You will be wishing for that cool breeze once the heat of summer arrives. Capture each colorful bloom in sight! Totally indulge in the wonderful beauty that is all around you today. Let the scope of spring cheer your heart as you take it all in. Prayerfully express thanks and appreciation to the Lord for creating such a beautiful day for you to behold. It is a good day to be alive Sisters!
Make Gardening Plans
It is a great moment to be inspired to clean up all the dead fallen leaves, twigs, and refresh those flower beds of your own if you haven’t already done so. Plant several perennial favorites to come back next spring without having to invest any extra cash into it. Go ahead and splurge on a few colorful annuals. One of the great blessings of living in the south is that some of those annuals will actually act like perennials for us. One great example is the Gerber Daisy. Another beautiful example is the Sunpatient. Try a few new flowering varieties and see what works in your regional area. Springtime is full of colorful blooms that are sure to brighten your mood. Make some simple garden plans to begin. Every year add a little color blast here and there to refresh. It is always worth the time to plan a garden.
Go For A Hike
What better way to get some healthy exercise in than to enjoy a short hike outside. A walk in nature calms everybody’s nerves. Fresh air does a body good! Be adventurous and go to a nearby state park and hike a trail. Be sure to take some water and a few nutritional snacks with you when you go. Invite a friend to go along with you for company. If you don’t have a state park close by as an option then go for a walk around your block. Whatever you do, just get outside to enjoy all the glorious spring colors and weather. For real! Go take a hike!
In Summary… Do All Three!
It is very possible to do all three of these activities at the same time. Granted, you may need to have a small notepad in hand. Inspiration often comes from seeing other people’s past plans in motion. Do you like the way your neighbor down the street used those particular double-bloom Azalea bushes in her front yard? Do you like that flower but feel it would look better in another color? Are you in love with Pink Dogwood trees? Hiking around the neighborhood and in nearby parks also can help you choose plants that will be successful in your yard as well. That saves money and time and lessens your failure rate. I’m all about that! So be brave! Be bold! Be adventurous! Get out there and enjoy your springtime blessings!
I always love to see all the pretty flowers in bloom.
Me too!
I went out in the rain just to take a third look at my first petunia bloom. Equally excited about the pink snap dragons just about to unfold. So wonderful to think about God designing these wonders for us.
I am sure that it was worth it! Petunias are beautiful! God makes everything beautiful just for us! 🙂
Glad spring is here, not sure about summer yer
