Clearing the clutter fast and easy is the way to go! November is here and before you know it the holidays will be too! Decorating, gathering, and receiving gifts will only add more “stuff.” There is only so much space to put “stuff” in a house before it starts to overflow and take over. While I am not of the mindset of being a minimalist, I do believe in clearing the clutter as fast and easy as I can. Tackling the task head on now BEFORE the holiday crunch time begins is the way to go!
Sort
To clear the clutter fast and easy before the holidays begin, start with a overview plan. Identify the top three areas of clutter to tackle. Clothes, toys, or paper clutter comes to mind quickly. Determine if the item is too worn, doesn’t fit, is out of date, broken or has any other flaw or reason to go. The four categories to work with are: TRASH, DONATE, SELL, and KEEP. Going room to room is another type of plan using the same four categories to clear the clutter fast and easy. Don’t try to do the whole house at one time or in one day. You will only end up frustrated. Instead set a specified amount of time each day in the month of November so you will be able to get the cleaning done and holiday decorations out beautifully!
Donate
Donating clean gently used clothing to the Salvation Army, Homeless Shelter, Domestic Violence Shelter or even Goodwill is a fast and easy way to clear the clutter. Furniture, toys, books, and other household items can be donated in addition to clothing. Donating is a useful way to help those less fortunate and in greater need in your own grassroots community. They will benefit and you will open up space to keep your home looking tidy.
Sell
Selling items that you no longer need but are still useful can bring in some extra cash just in time for Christmas shopping! I always like to look and see what I am not using. Books are one item on my list. Some books are good for a certain season in life like, “What To Expect When You’re Expecting.” At my age, believe me, I will not be expecting! Sell or donate it! Someone somewhere is expecting and can use that information. Purses, designer clothing, bulky small appliances that take up too much space and aren’t being used are prime items. Sell them online or organize a garage sale to bring in some quick cash and clear the clutter fast and easy.
Conclusion
Clearing the clutter fast and easy before the holiday season begins will bring you many blessings. It will bless those who need the items that you donate or sell at a budget friendly price. It will bless your family by making it easier for them to keep their space tidy and clean. Decluttering early is the first step in being able to clean and decorate for the holidays. This will bless you by removing the stress of trying to do it all at the last minute. Clearing the clutter can bring in the blessing of some unexpected Christmas shopping cash or a deposit to your savings account. Tackle clearing the clutter now, BEFORE the holiday crunch time arrives! You will reap multiple blessings by doing so. I promise!
