Aging Is … 25 Positive Thoughts On What Is Gained!

So teach us to number our days, that we may apply our hearts to wisdom.

Psalm 90:12

Growing older brings with it a whole lot of challenges in our bodies that aren’t always fun to deal with. I’ve always wanted to age gracefully. I have met older people who are grumblers and complainers. They carry around an endless supply of bitterness which they gladly spread around wherever they go. I intentionally choose not to age this way. I made it a point to challenge myself on the meaning of aging gracefully. What significance does aging hold for you? Here are a few of my thoughts on getting older.

"With the ancient is wisdom; and in length of days understanding." Job 12:12
  • Aging is a blessing
  • Aging is creating new memories
  • Aging is being brave
  • Aging is extending grace to yourself and others
  • Aging is wisdom obtained
  • Aging is accessing empowerment
  • Aging is building new muscle
  • Aging is beautiful
  • Aging is discovering that less is more
  • Aging is sharing your experiences and knowledge
  • Aging is learning to say no nicely
  • Aging is accepting and applying your strengths
  • Aging is gleaning value from every situation
  • Aging is learning to offset the losses
  • Aging is discovering and extending hope
  • Aging is the promise of the future
  • Aging is laughter at your own mistakes
  • Aging is coping with daily challenges anew

  • Aging is a lifetime experiencing love
  • Aging is time to dream again
  • Aging is life
  • Aging is a gift not given to everyone
  • Aging is sight beyond today
  • Aging is holding hands with God

My hope is to embrace the aging process daily with grace and mercy not bitterness. These trophies are earned blessings to remember on days when the struggle is real. God will never leave us. Walk daily in His promises. Focus on hope and love. Dream again. Build again. Forgive. Share sage wisdom gained. Learn something new. Love God! Love people! Love yourself! These truths are what is gained.

"But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint." Isaiah 41:31
"Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ." Philippians 1:6 (KJV)
